FRANKLIN INSURANCE COMPANY
The Franklin Insurance Company was founded on Frbruary 28, 1855 in St Louis. Missouri.
Their original fire mark was issued in 1855, measured 7 3/8" X  5 5/8" and was made of Zinc construction. Franklin ceasesd doing buainess in 1878,
This mark is of heavy lead (over 5,0 lbs) construction, measures approximately 7.5" X  5.75" and is a Iron Master casting. It has a rough rustic front surface which is black with gold lettering and trim. In the center it says Franklin Insurance Company of St Louis. It is in good condition with only minor chips in the paint, which really gives it a great vintage/antique look. This mark in  is not one that is seen that often for sale.
This would make an excellent addition for any collector of firefighting or insurance memorabilia, an agent/broker, or a company employee/retiree.
